Kicking off our maiden journey we have an exclusive insight into one of the ‘Deadly New Breed’ of producers, making more waves than a fat kid in the bath – T.D.U.K salutes, Russell G!

Godskitchen & GlobalGathering favourite Russell G is one of the freshest up and coming talents in the electronic scene right now. Since breaking into the scene Russell has played for some of the biggest club brands in the world, from Godskitchen to The Gallery.

Russell’s big breakthrough came from the mighty Godskitchen, for whom he has been a regular player for over the past couple of years, both in the UK and internationally, including playing the midnight set for Godskitchen in Sweden on NYE 2008, 2010 saw Russell make his debut at Godskitchen’s Global Gathering on their flagship Boombox stage alongside illuminaries including Armin Van Buuren, Sasha & Eric Prydz.

Apart from gracing the decks at many other nights on British shores, such as The Gallery @ Ministry Of Sound, Russell has played regularly across Europe as well as a becoming favourite in Asia after 2 hugely successful tours which has seen him play in Indonesia for New Years Eve 2 years running.

It’s not just the DJ’ing that has seen Russell earn acclaim. Russell has been behind many underground anthems over the past couple of years. His eclectic style has been him appear on a wide range of labels, from Armada, Black Hole, 303Lovers, Hotfinger and Spinnin. His tracks are just as likely to be found in the sets of Mark Knight as the are in Armin’s, giving Russell that all important crossover appeal.

Russell's productions and DJ sets have also been heard on various media outlets including Radio 1, Galaxy & Kiss FM whereas Russell has also featured on the "15 mins" segment on DJ Tiesto's Clublife Radio show where he was heard by over 1 million people.

Russell’s productions have also been heard on online radio shows hosted by DJ’s including Ferry Corsten, Marco V, Mark Knight, Eddie Halliwell & Tiesto.

2010 saw Russell’s rise continue after becoming a regular fixture in the Beatport charts with the standout success being the huge ‘The Real Life’ collaboration with Paul Thomas and Lissat & Voltaxx, the track received 3 plays on Judge Jules Radio 1 show as well as being number 1 on the Trackitdown tech house chart for almost 3 weeks.

With the launch of his own label, more original productions and high profile collaborations in the pipeline expect to be seeing and hearing plenty more of Russell G in 2011.
