Koen Groeneveld, based in Holland, is the hottest new name in electronic music.His sound is a dynamic mix of Techno, Tech House, Progressive House and Minimal.
Koen started his own label _aBZoluT. early 2008. One of his first releases “Wake Turbulence” peaked at 1 both in the Beatport Top Downloads Top 100 and in their Techno Top 100 in July 2008.
After the huge success of “Wake Turbulence” he was asked by Mark Knight to
do a remix for a Toolroom release by Mark Trophy, entitled “Ripper”. Koen’s remix peaked at 12 in the beatport Techno Chart. The follow up tracks to “Wake Turbulence” , “Pull Up” and “Go Around” received massive support by the worlds DJ elite.
His remixes for Dataworx “Control” , Paul Nazca & Leslie K “Mistral B” and
Mario Ochoa’s “Twisted” reached the highest regions of the Beatport Techno chart.“Wake Turbulence” ended up being 3 in the Beatport Techno Top 10 of 2008 and is now nominated as “Best Techno Track 2008” on the Beatport Music Awards 2009! Koen's biggest success till today came when Toolroom Records released Fatboy Slim V Koen Groeneveld "Rockafeller Skank". The track skyrocketed to the number 1 spot at Beatport's overall chart in March 2009, in less then 5 days!
Koen delivered epic and sought after remixes for the likes of a.o. Umek, Spektre, Tocadisco,
Lutzenkirchen, Mario Ochoa, Dataworx, Sander van Doorn Vs. Marco V, David Guetta, Blank & Jones, Age of Love, Ragdoll, Ferry Corsten’s System F, Robbie Rivera, EDX & Daniel Portman,
Noir, Yello, Alex Young, A Balter, TDR, Paul Nazca & Leslie Kei, Chainside, Stars on 45 and
Mark Trophy.
Under the Monikers KG, Bruce Alba and Neo-K Koen drops tracks a little bit more experimental
compared to his usual stuff.
Big collabs with Mark Knight (“Put Your Hands Up”), Ahmet Sendil (“Flaps 128”) and Tocadisco (“Techno Logical World”) and his Toolroom release “Microburst E.P.” pushed our Tech don higher
on the ladder of the electronic dance music world in 2009
Early 2010 Koen ended up at #7, voted out of hundreds of DJ’s, in the House Planet DJ Poll 2009.
“Air Breaks” , a disco influenced Tech House gem, released on Toolroom Records peaked @ #1 in Beatport’s Tech House Top 10 and @ #5 in the overall chart in June 2010. 
Only one month later followed by another chart buster:
Together with Addy van der Zwan (Koen’s musical partner since the stone age) he launched a series of Disco-ish Tech House 2 track E.P.’s entiled “Disko Tek” and released on his imprint _aBZoluT.
“Gotta Move” from “Disko Tek E.P. 2” reached #1 in the Beatport House chart and #2 in the
main Top 100 in July 2010.
In September, the follow up “Do It Do It” from Disco Tek E.P. 3 peaked in the Beatport charts as well !
Fall 2010: 3 tracks on 2 Toolroom albums: “Rudder”, “CVR” and “Slats” with Addy van der Zwan.
Gaining again big support from the major league DJ’s !
A collab, “Dordogne E.P.”, with his close friend and rising star Arturo Silvestre on BlueFin brought us
another memorable Techno E.P.
Mr. Beatport… ehhh… Mr. Groeneveld has been DJ-ing all around the world the past two years in a.o. Japan, USA, UK, Mexico, Poland, Germany, Turkey, Bulgaria, Ukraine and of course his home country Holland.
He did 6 memorable sets during WMC 2010 in Miami on a.o. Toolroom Knights @ Space and
Juicy Beach @ Nikki Beach !
His debut gig on the infamous Awakenings Weekender @ De Gashouder in Amsterdam on October 8
was one of his personal highlights of 2010.
2011 promises to be another epic year for Koen.
A new collab with Ahmet Sendil by the name of “Turboprop” on Koen’s label _aBZoluT. was released early February and took the Beatport Techno charts by storm !
Followed later that month by a big release: “Slides E.P.” on Steve Angello’s label Size Records.
All 3 tracks on this E.P. : “Slides”, “Tormenta Electronica” and “Yaw Damper” caused mayhem all over the globe and beyond !
“Minimums”, Koen’s contrubition on Toolroom’s “Miami 2011” compilation was one of this bundle’s highlights and therefor peaked at the top of all DJ and online stores sales charts!
March: Koen’s debut on Umek’s 1605 imprint, together with Arturo Silvestre, he’s dropped the track “Sjoroem” on the label’s album “The Riot”.
A tsunami of new Koen produced tracks in April on his _aBZoluT. label and featured on the digital only album “Turbulent Tunes 2011 Vol.1”.
